Pickup Truck Involved in Deadly Afternoon Crash on Highway 99 in Kingsburg
KINGSBURG, CA (March 19, 2019) – A man was killed following a traffic accident Tuesday afternoon in Kingsburg, CHP officials said.
The fatal crash happened around 2:34 p.m. on Highway 99, about a mile North of Merritt Drive.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver pickup truck was traveling northbound on Highway 99 when it crashed into the center divider for unknown reasons.
A male occupant, appeared to have been ejected from the vehicle, was lying in the fast lane of the highway when officers arrived. The man suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pickup truck was towed away for evidence.
Further details, including the identity of the victim, were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
