King Holguin Dies in Horrific Traffic Crash on Highway 280 [Santa Clara County, CA]

Santa Clara County, CA (December 17, 2024) On Friday, 6-year-old King Holguin was pronounced dead after a horrific traffic crash on Highway 280.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the fatal incident happened at about 10:55 p.m. along northbound Interstate Highway 280 in Santa Clara County.

Reports say that the tragic crash near Leland Avenue and the unincorporated community of Burbank claimed the life of the 6-year-old boy.

Preliminary investigations revealed that King was on the freeway’s right shoulder before he unexpectedly ran into a traffic lane. A 2024 Nissan Altima, driven by a 36-year-old San Jose resident, struck the boy. Emergency responders rushed King to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly afterward.

The incident led to a temporary closure of the northbound lanes for nearly an hour as investigators worked at the scene. The crash remains under active investigation by the CHP.
