Rollover Crash on Highway 101 in King City Leaves Driver Dead
KING CITY, CA (April 30, 2019) – A 68-year-old Alameda man was killed following a rollover crash Tuesday morning in King City, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Around 10:37 a.m., the man was driving a 2004 Toyota Tacoma northbound on Highway 101, just North of Wildhorse Road, when he made an unsafe turn into the center median.
He continued driving north in the center median, crossing into the northbound lanes of Highway 101, then drifted onto the eastern shoulder of the highway.
The vehicle overturned several times and landed on its roof about a dozen feet from railroad tracks. The man died at the scene from blunt force, according to the CHP.
The Monterey County coroner’s office will identify the man once his family is notified.
Alcohol and/or drugs were not being ruled out as factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
