41-Year-Old Victorville Man Killed after Collision with Tow Truck near Kiowa Road
APPLE VALLEY, CA (September 29, 2018) – A man was killed early Saturday morning following a scooter crash on Bar Valley Road. The victim was later identified as 41-year-old Kimsan Mao, a resident of Victorville.
According to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office, the incident took place at about 1:16 AM in the 20000 block of Bear Valley Rd near Kiowa Road. A G&M tow truck was traveling west when it struck a GTS 300 Vespa scooter, operated by Mao.
The impact of the collision ejected Mao from the scooter, causing fatal injuries. Unfortunately, the victim was later pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Meanwhile, the driver of the tow truck remained at the crash site and cooperated with officials during their investigation.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the fatal incident. Additional information will be released following the conclusion of the investigation.
