Driver Dies in Fatal Wrong-Way Crash on Interstate 90 in North Bend
North Bend, WA (January 14, 2021) – Wednesday night, a 26-year-old driver died and another driver sustained injuries in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 90.
The North Bend fatal crash happened at around 9:30 p.m. on January 13.
According to reports, a 26-year-old man driving his Dodge pickup truck west in the eastbound lanes.
Then a semi-truck in the middle of three lanes saw the oncoming pickup and swerved to the right to avoid the crash, but the Dodge struck the second trailer of the semi, then veered into the left lane where it smashed head-on into another vehicle.
The impact resulted in the immediate death of the pickup driver while the 59-year-old driver of the other car he smashed into was transported to a Bellevue hospital. His current condition has not yet been updated.
Moreover, the driver of the semi sustained no injuries.
Police continue to further investigate why the driver was heading the wrong way.
