Kevin Spruell Sr of Joshua Tree Dies in Center Avenue DUI Crash [Joshua Tree, CA]

Joshua Tree (March 17, 2022) – On Monday, 49-year-old Kevin Spruell Sr of Joshua Tree lost his life in a DUI crash on Center Avenue.

It was about 8:40 p.m. when the collision happened near Shifting Sands.

The crash happened at approximately 8:40 p.m. near Center Avenue and Shifting Sands.

Officers say a 24-year-old Joshua Tree man was driving a northbound 2000 Chevrolet Tracker wherein Spruell Sr was in the passenger seat.

Due to e to the driver’s level of intoxication, the driver unsafely turned his vehicle to the left and the vehicle rolled over onto a dirt berm on private property. 

Reports say neither Spruell Sr nor the driver was wearing a seatbelt during the incident. Both of them were thrown around within the vehicle.

Unfortunately, Spruell Sr died in the collision.

Moreover, the driver incurred major injuries. The paramedics took him to Desert Regional Medical Center (DRMC) in Palms Springs.
