Kevin Amstutz Involved in Fatal Crash on State Route 62 [Joshua Tree, CA]

Joshua Tree, CA (April 19, 2023) On Sunday morning, 69-year-old Kevin Amstutz was involved in a fatal crash on State Route 62, west of Hillview Road.

CHP says that a pedestrian crash killed a 30-year-old Yucca Valley man walking in the eastbound lane on Highway 62 at around 5 a.m.

Reports say that Kevin Amstutz of Yucca Valley was driving a vehicle in the same lane and fatally struck a male pedestrian.

Officials say that medics transported the man to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital. Meanwhile, Amstutz stayed at the scene and cooperated with officials.

CHP is investigating the tragic pedestrian crash on Highway 62 and have not released further information at this time.
