83-Year-Old Kent Man Dead in Accident near Washington Avenue North
KENT, WA (March 22, 2018) – A fatal accident took place on Thursday morning around 11:23 AM, on the intersection of West Meeker Street and Washington Avenue North.
A black Honda sedan and a maroon Dodge Durango were traveling eastbound on Meeker, when one of the two cars went to make a left to go south on Washington. The two cars collided, resulting in the Dodge to roll over on its head.
The Honda suffered severe damage, and the 83-year-old Kent man inside was pronounced dead on the scene, despite saving efforts from police and firefighters that arrived on the scene. The 70-year-old Federal Way woman driving the Dodge sustained unknown injuries and was hospitalized.
There is no update on her current condition or the identities of the parties involved.
Roads were closed-off while authorities investigated and crews cleaned up the wreckage. They reopened around 3:30 PM that same day.
