Pedestrian Kent Carlsen Struck and Killed in Long Beach Motorcycle Crash
LONG BEACH, CA (February 18, 2021) – On Wednesday night, Kent Carlsen, 76, died in a pedestrian crash on McNab Avenue and Stearns Street.
According to Long Beach Police Department, the incident happened at around 6:20 p.m.
As the 76-year-old Long Beach man crossed Stearns Street outside a marked crosswalk, the incident happened.
Apparently, a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed struck the pedestrian on westbound Stearns Street.
Thus, responders transported the victim to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old driver of the motorcycle remained at the scene. Later, responders took the motorcyclist to the hospital after sustaining minor injuries.
Furthermore, the authorities do not believe that alcohol, drugs, or distracted driving played a role in the crash.
