Ryan Machado Arrested in Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash on Sunrise Drive in Tucson
Tucson, AZ (March 19, 2022) – Saturday morning, 74-year-old Kenneth Cook and 62-year-old Gretchen Cook died in a hit-and-run crash on Sunrise Drive and Pontatoc Road.
The fatal hit-and-run crash in Tucson happened at around 9:45 a.m. on March 19.
PCSD said both cyclists sustained fatal injuries and died at the crash scene. But the driver fled the scene in a Cadillac Escalade.
Witnesses helped in locating the suspected driver identified as 26-year-old Ryan Machado.
Machado is currently booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center for Manslaughter, Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Collision, Criminal Damage, and DUI.
