Kendra Williams of New Orleans Killed in Highway 63 Collision [Jasper County, TX]

Soyinka Russell Hospitalized in Collision West of CR 032

Jasper County, TX (September 9, 2023) – On Tuesday, 33-year-old Kendra Williams of New Orleans sustained fatal injuries following a Highway 63 collision.

The traffic accident took place at around 7:35 a.m. approximately one-half mile west of County Road 032. 

The preliminary investigation reveals that a 2023 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 30-year-old Soyinka Russell of New Orleans was westbound and a 2013 Toyota 4Runner was eastbound.

It has been reported that Russell attempted to pass a commercial motor vehicle to the left and hit the Toyota’s front right portion. 

As a result, the Chevrolet traveled off the road, struck a tree, and caught fire.

Russell was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment.

Russell’s passenger, Kendra Williams was rushed to Christus Memorial where she was declared dead by medical staff. 

The 63-year-old Toyota driver was not injured in the collision.

Officers are still investigating this collision.
