Carson Street Fatal Collision Results in Injuries
Lakewood, CA (July 4, 2023) – On Sunday, 54-year-old Kelly Drake of Westminster was killed in a 605 Freeway vehicle collision.
The CHP received the crash report at about 8:14 p.m. in the area of Carson Street wherein seven vehicles were involved.
Apparently, the fatal collision was triggered by a two-vehicle crash at the Carson Street off-ramp after multiple vehicles were unable to stop to avoid the collision.
California Highway Patrol Officer Stephen Brandt said Drake was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the accident. Also, another person was transported to a hospital with injuries.
Moreover, traffic crews closed the southbound lanes except for the far right lane for the investigation and cleanup.
