46-Year-Old Bicyclist Dies after Collision with Vehicle near Martin Road
MOUNT VERNON, WA (October 27, 2018) – A woman has died days after she was critically injured in a bicycle crash near Martin Road. The victim was later identified as 46-year-old Kelly Couture, a resident of Mount Vernon.
According to the Mount Vernon Police Department, the incident happened in the 3700 block of East College Way, at about 8:13 PM. A bicyclist was riding westbound in the eastbound lanes when she was struck by a vehicle.
Couture suffered serious injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment and evaluation. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead three days after the incident. A GoFundMe page was created to assist the victim’s family with funeral expenses.
