Kelly Lynne Cameron Struck and Killed by Vehicle in La Mesa Accident
La Mesa, CA (January 01, 2021) – On New Year’s Eve, 54-year-old Kelly Cameron died in a pedestrian accident on Harbinson Avenue.
The authorities responded to the crash scene at 3:35 p.m. on the 4700 block area. The driver called 911 shortly after the incident.
When they arrived, police officers and firefighters rendered aid to the injured pedestrian. However, the authorities pronounced Kelly Lynne Cameron, an ex-Derby Dolls Skater, dead at the scene.
Lt. Greg Runge said the driver of the 2016 Subaru SRX was a 27-year-old woman who had a passenger with her.
The woman was driving eastbound on Harbinson Avenue when the crash happened.
Neither the female driver nor her passenger was injured.
Meanwhile, the authorities do not suspect drugs or alcohol as factors in the crash. They assume Ms. Cameron was jogging at the time of the fatal accident.
Officers closed Harbinson Avenue in both directions between Colony Road and Bonita Road after the incident.
Shortly after, Ms. Cameron’s family kickstarted a GoFundMe in order to raise money for her memorial expenses.
Tammy Vallez wrote that Kelly, along with being a front line healthcare worker and an athlete, lived her life to the fullest. She is survived by her husband Tom and their families.
