SUNNYSIDE, WA (March 2, 2023) – Tuesday night, a deadly wrong-way crash on Interstate 82 involved Keith Goings.
 
The incident occurred just after 7:30 p.m. on Interstate 82, two miles west of Sunnyside.
 
According to reports, 20-year-old Keith Goings from Springfield MO drove the wrong way. Then, he crashed into another vehicle head-on.
 
Reports confirmed that Goings traveled west in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 82. Then, he crashed with a 23-year-old Grandview man driving a car.
 
Officers said that three children ages 5, 6, and 8 occupied the man’s car.
 
After the crash, the 6-year-old boy and the 8-year-old girl succumbed to injuries at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, responders transported the 5-year-old girl and the driver of the car to the hospital.
 
Also, Goings suffered injuries in the crash and was taken to the hospital.
 
Moreover, charges remained pending and the authorities believed that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
 
At this time, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identities of the deceased.
 
Meanwhile, the incident also closed I-82 eastbound at mile marker 65 for several hours so authorities could investigate.
 
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
