1 Dead in Modesto Pedestrian Accident on Service Road near Esmar Road
MODESTO, CA (December 15, 2022) – Tuesday night, authorities arrested Kayla Espinoza in a deadly pedestrian crash on Service Road near Esmar Road.
The incident happened around midnight on Service Road near Esmar Road.
According to reports, a 41-year-old man rode his personal mobility device down Service Road. Then, a Toyota driver struck the man from behind.
As a result, the pedestrian died at the scene.
Officers revealed that the man was in an area with no street lights. Also, the driver had no lights on his vehicle and was driving when it was dark out. Also, the vehicle traveled at around 65 mph and did not attempt to evade him.
Afterward, driver Kayla Espinoza of the Toyota called 911 after the crash.
Then, authorities arrested Espinoza for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
