Kayla Clark and Other Driver Hurt in American Canyon DUI Wrong-Way Accident on Highway 29
NAPA COUNTY, CA (September 17, 2019) — A woman identified as Kayla Clark was suspected of DUI in a wrong-way crash on Sunday, September 15.
At about 2:08 a.m., 36-year-old Kayla Nicole Kim Clark, of Vallejo, drove a 2015 Chevy Malibu southbound in the No. 1 lane of northbound Highway 29 at Tower Road. Her vehicle crashed head-on with a 2019 Kia Forte sedan moving northbound in the same lane.
Both Clark and the other driver — a 48-year-old Napa man — became trapped inside their vehicles. Firefighters with the American Canyon Fire Department extricated both from the wreckage.
Both drivers sustained major injuries. Paramedics rushed them by AMR ambulances to Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa.
CHP officials believe that alcohol is a factor in the incident. They noted that they put Clark under arrest while hospitalized.
