Katrina Orosco and Bryan Zuniga Hurt in Chico Car Accident
CHICO, CA (February 21, 2019) — Two drivers sustained major injuries in a head-on car collision on February 19 north of Chico.
The incident occurred around 7:50 a.m. on Meridian Road north of Bell Road. A 2014 Volkswagen Passat crashed with a 1991 Chevrolet pickup, CHP revealed.
The 35-year-old Volkswagen, Katrina Orosco of Chico, was driving north on Meridian Road. As a result, she let her car cross into the southbound lane where she hit the pickup head-on.
Orosco sustained major injuries in the incident and was transported to Enloe Medical Center.
Meanwhile, the pickup driver, 26-year-old Bryan Zuniga of Chico, also sustained major injuries and was transported to Enloe. Orosco and Zuniga were reportedly wearing their seat belts.
It was unclear why Orosco let her car to drive into oncoming traffic. Arrests were not made as of this time. As a result of the accident, both lanes of Meridian Road were shut down following the collision. The road was shut down for an hour.
