Stanwood Crash Kills Katrina Kakalecik, Injures Others
Stanwood, WA (November 26, 2021) – On Thursday, at about 4 p.m., 27-year-old Katrina Kakalecik of Granite Falls, died, and three others sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on State Route 532.
Kakalecik was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the crash. Officers said she was wearing a seatbelt when the crash happened.
Apparently, a Volkswagen Jetta and a Ford Escape were westbound when the Jetta driver rear-ended the SUV.
Moreover, a Ford Escape SUV crossed over into eastbound traffic and was hit by a Toyota Avalon driver.
The driver of an eastbound Toyota 4Runner swerved to avoid the crash. However, it struck the Ford Escape.
Afterwards, the driver of an eastbound Honda Civic crashed with the Toyota Avalon.
Reports said that a person taken into custody for DUI was not the driver who caused the wreck, but a person hurt in the crash.
The authorities are investigating this fatal incident.
