Kelly Sharp Suspected of DUI, Abandons Injured Twin Sister after Rollover Crash in Belfair
BELFAIR, WA (August 18, 2019) – A 29-year-old Katie Sharp was injured and her sister is on the run following a DUI rollover crash Sunday evening along a Belfair road, according to Washington State Patrol troopers.
The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. near Larson Lake Road.
Troopers say a 29-year-old Kelly Sharp of Tahuya was driving a Ford Fusion west on SR 300 when she lost control of the car and hit a tree. The car then rolled over twice.
Kelly got out of the car and fled the scene before law enforcement arrived, officials said. Her twin sister Katie was left behind and was taken to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton with serious injuries.
Investigators believe that Kelly was impaired and that speed was also a factor in the crash.
Law enforcement is actively looking for Kelly. Once captured, she will face likely charges of DUI and hit-and-run, troopers said.
The road was blocked for nearly four hours for the crash investigation.
