Bothell Woman Dies after Colliding with Car on Interstate 405 near NE 195th Street
BOTHELL, WA (August 15, 2019) – Authorities identified 67-year-old Kathleen Kalda of Bothell as the woman killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 405, Thursday evening.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident happened on Interstate 405, at about 9:30 PM. Due to unknown reasons, a southbound Saturn Ion veered across all lanes of traffic. Then, it slammed into the concrete barrier on the left side. There, a northbound Ford C-Max crashed into the disabled Saturn.
Emergency responders rushed Kalda to Harborview Medical Center, where she later died. Meanwhile, the Ford driver, identified as 26-year-old Gregory Ganflinger, suffered minor injuries and received treatment at the scene.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Investigators will release additional information once it becomes available.
