78-Year-Old Kathleen Dianne Swanston Killed in Crash on West Irvington Road in Tucson
Tucson, AZ (March 28, 2024) – A car crash earlier in the month resulted in the death of 78-year-old Kathleen Dianne Swanston, who died in the hospital on Wednesday, March 27, from her sustained injuries.
While traveling eastbound on West Irvington Road on March 11, Kathleen Dianne Swanston, driving a Buick SUV, attempted to turn left onto Calle Santa Cruz.
At that moment, a Chevrolet SUV, traveling in the opposite direction, struck her vehicle. Tucson Police, in a news release, stated there was no indication that impairment was a factor for either driver involved.
Authorities issued Swanston a citation for failing to yield while making a left turn, and she was transported to Banner University Medical Center South.
The Chevrolet SUV’s 77-year-old driver also received transport to a local hospital, facing life-threatening injuries.
