1 Hurt in Phoenix Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 17 and Thomas Road
PHOENIX, AZ (March 30, 2022) – Early Sunday, 32-year-old Kassandra Valdez suffered injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 17 and Thomas Road.
The incident happened when a vehicle struck Valdez as she crossed Interstate 17 and Thomas Road. Then, the vehicle fled the scene without stopping.
After the crash, responders transported Kassandra Valdez to a hospital with several injuries.
“They had to put plastic surgery on her, which they had to construct her lip, and her teeth are kind of gone too,” said Manuela Valdez, the victim’s mother. “She’s got a fracture in her leg. My daughter feels like she doesn’t want to be in this world because she’s not pretty anymore. Or she’s not able to do the things she used to do before.”
At this time, the events that have led up to the crash remain unclear.
Due to the limited information available, the Phoenix Police Department handles the crash investigation.

Mark Sweet of Sweet Lawyers says that serious accident cases may call for a separate investigation. An experienced lawyer fighting on behalf of the injured party must spearhead this investigation. A lawyer will make sure victims or those impacted are not cheated in the legal aftermath.
