Kassandra Soto Injured in DUI Crash on Highway 101 [Goleta, CA]

Goleta, CA (October 20, 2021) – On Thursday, 23-year-old Kassandra Soto suffered injuries, and police arrested 26-year-old Adriana Chavez of Goleta, in a DUI crash on Highway 101.

The emergency team responded to the crash scene at about 2:15 a.m. west of Dos Pueblos Canyon.

When the authorities arrived, they found a 2014 Toyota Corolla that had left the roadway, crashed into a tree, and rested on its right side.

Then, they also found Soto, the rear-seat female passenger that was thrown from the vehicle.

 The AMR ambulance rushed Soto to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with critical injuries.

On the other hand, the officers arrested Chavez, the driver, on suspicion of felony drunken driving causing injury and driving with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08% or greater causing injury.

Chavez sustained minor abrasions in the accident. The authorities booked her into the Santa Barbara County Jail, where she stayed Thursday afternoon, with bail set at $100,000.

Moreover, officers said Chavez was in the left-hand lane of the freeway when she made an unsafe turn and drove off the road down a dirt embankment.
