Karrell Taylor Fatally Injured after Kent Motorcycle Crash on Willis Street
KENT, WA (October 4, 2019) – A 23-year-old man identified as Karrell Taylor died in a motorcycle crash on Wednesday, October 2.
The accident happened near the intersection of Willis Street and Washington Avenue South, just north of LA Fitness.
According to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, Taylor died from multiple blunt force injuries. Taylor drove a motorcycle that crashed with a truck at around 2:39 p.m., Kent Police said.
The truck turned from Willis Street to get onto southbound Highway 167. The driver reportedly had a flashing yellow arrow, according to Assistant Police Chief Jarod Kasner. The motorcyclist may have been moving at an excessive speed, Kasner said.
The driver of the truck cooperated and consented to a blood sample, Kasner said. He did not appear to be under the influence of any substance.
Officers responded within minutes after the accident. In spite of immediate life-saving efforts, Taylor died at the scene.
Kent Police temporarily shut down the on-ramp to southbound Highway 167 from Willis Street because of the crash.
