A Chase That Led to Highway 395 Accident Kills 23-Year-Old Karlie Moore
Pasco, WA (May 10, 2021) – On Sunday, 23-year-old Karlie Moore died, while 28-year-old Ricky Cruz was injured in a semi-truck crash on Highway 395.
Franklin County sheriff’s deputies were chasing a car driven by Cruz in the northbound lanes of the highway, north of Pasco.
Cruz approached the Foster Wells Road intersection and crossed into the southbound lanes.
Unfortunately, his vehicle crashed head-on into an approaching semi-truck.
Moore, his passenger, died at the accident scene.
On the other hand, rescuers took Cruz to Sacred Heart Medical Center for suffering serious injuries.
Officials said neither of them were wearing seatbelts during the accident.
Meanwhile, the semi-truck driver was not injured.
Sheriff’s officials did not disclose what prompted the pursuit. Similarly, reports said charges against Cruz are pending.
