Four Women Hospitalized after Rollover Crash near Plaza Drive
VISALIA, CA (October 20, 2018) – Four women were hospitalized Saturday evening following a rollover crash near Plaza Drive. 29-year-old Karina Vanleueven of Palos Verdes, was identified as one of the victims by the authorities.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at about 9:00 PM on Highway 198. A white Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Vanleueven, was traveling at a high rate of speed when it went off the roadway and rolled over.
Vanleueven and two of her female passengers were able to crawl out of the overturned vehicle. However, another passenger had to be freed by emergency responders using extrication airbags. All four of them were later transported to the Kaweah Delta Medical Center with minor to moderate injuries. Further updates on their current medical conditions were not immediately available.
Investigators believe that alcohol and drugs are factors in the crash, which remains under investigation. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
