55-Year Old Motorcyclist Injured, Karen Veninga-Zaricor Arrested in DUI Crash on North Rodeo Gulch Road
Soquel, CA (January 09, 2021) – On Friday, a 55-year old motorcyclist from Soquel was injured while police arrested Karen Veninga-Zaricor in a DUI crash on North Rodeo Gulch Road.
The incident took place at about 12:09 p.m. south of Rodeo Ridge Road.
Veninga-Zaricor was driving a 2013 Audi traveling northbound while a Triumph motorcycle was traveling southbound approaching the Audi.
Just then, Veninga-Zaricor’s vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and across the double yellow lines. It went directly into the path of the Triumph motorcycle.
As a result, her vehicle crashed head-on with the motorcycle.
Immediately, the responders airlifted the motorcyclist to a Santa Clara County hospital.
Meanwhile, officers arrested Veninga-Zaricor on DUI charges for suspected drug use.
