LAKEWOOD, WA (November 14, 2018) – A woman in her late 60s was killed in a car crash on 86th Street Southwestern, early Wednesday afternoon. The victim was later identified as Karen McMillion.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 12:30 PM, near Bridgeport Way Southwestern. Reports showed that a Dodge Durango SUV ran a red light, swerved to avoid a patrol car, then lost control, and hit the victim who was walking with a companion along the sidewalk.

The driver, David Matthew Scott, 43, stated that the traffic light was yellow and that he going 15 mph. The suspect also claimed he had drunk one Bloody Mary earlier in the day, but his blood-alcohol content came back zero after a breath test.
