Karen Garcia-Rodriguez and Her Unborn Child Die in Head-On Crash on U.S. 93 in Yavapai County

Yavapai County, AZ (July 12, 2022) – Sunday night, 32-year-old Phoenix resident Karen Garcia-Rodriguez, and her unborn child died in a head-on crash on U.S. 93.

The fatal head-on crash in Yavapai County happened at around 8:30 p.m. on July 10, northwest of Wickenburg on U.S. 93 near milepost 162.

AZDPS said a southbound Jeep Liberty crashed into a northbound Honda Civic. 

EMS took the pregnant driver, Rodriguez, of the Civic to a Prescott hospital where she later died. 

Crews also transported the Jeep driver to a hospital with unknown injuries.

Investigators said the Jeep driver showed signs of impairment.

No other information is immediately available.

Further investigation into this fatal head-on crash is underway.
