Kalvin Keene Fatally Struck By Car in Boyle Heights Accident on South Grande Vista Avenue
BOYLE HEIGHTS, CA (June 21, 2021) – Sunday night, 62-year-old homeless man named Kalvin Keene died in a hit-and-run crash on Grande Vista Avenue.
A desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center revealed that the crash happened at 10:46 p.m. Moreover, it occurred at 1606 S. Grande Vista Avenue in Boyle Heights.
Reports confirmed that as the pedestrian crossed the street, a vehicle hit him. As a result, he sustained fatal injuries, and was declared dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, a video showed that the crash scene was near a Boyle Heights railroad bridge.
Also, the officers set up a canopy to shield the scene from view.
At this time, the circumstances that have led up to the fatal hit and run crash remain unclear.
Apparently the vehicle that struck Mr. Keene driver stopped briefly, then fled, last being seen driving southbound on South Grande Vista.
Thus, the authorities continue to investigate the crash.
