1 Dead in Olivehurst Bicycle Accident on George Avenue and McGowan Parkway
OLIVEHURST, CA (March 30, 2022) – Sunday night, authorities arrested Kaitlyn Vansant in a deadly crash on George Avenue and McGowan Parkway.
The incident happened at about 9:30 p.m. on George Avenue, south of McGowan Parkway.
According to reports, a 36-year-old Olivehurst man rode a bike. Moreover, he traveled about one to two feet away from the right shoulder in the south lanes of George Avenue.
As Kaitlyn Vansant drove south, she struck the man from behind her vehicle.
As a result, responders transported the bicyclist to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, Vansant stayed at the scene and authorities arrested her for DUI and second-degree murder. Then, they booked her into the Yuba County Jail with a bail set at $1 million.
