Kaila Lin Stanley of Angleton Hurt in Fatal Accident on FM 980 [Walker County, TX]

Walker County, TX (January 11, 2024) On Tuesday morning, 53-year-old Roderick Lucas of Huntsville died while 36-year-old Kaila Lin Stanley of Angleton was hurt and hospitalized in a fatal accident on FM 980.

According to DPS, the solo-vehicle crash happened along FM 980 about two miles south of Riverside.

Reports say that a 2015 Toyota Corolla, driven by Lucas at highspeed, failed to make a curve and collided with a tree.

Officials say that Lucas died in the crash, while a passenger in the car, identified as Stanley, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with serious injuries.

DPS is investigating the deadly single-vehicle crash and has not released further information at this time.
