2 Killed in Motorhome Accident off 90 Freeway

 
ELLENSBURG, WA (September 3, 2018) – Two people died and six others were seriously injured in a motorhome crash on 90 Freeway. The deceased victims were identified as 61-year-old Louis Edelbrock of Snohomish and 6-year-old Kaci Edelbrock.
 
According to Washington State Patrol, the 40-foot motorhome and trailer were heading west on the 90 Freeway just before 3:30 PM when one of its tires blew and the driver lost control. The motorhome went off the road, hit a guardrail, and went into the median, before going down an embankment. It finally came to a stop in a creek.
 
Louis was pronounced dead at the scene and Kaci was taken to the Ellensburg Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The 62-year-old male driver, along with a 41-year-old female passenger and a 3-year-old boy, was airlifted to the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. A 15-year-old boy was airlifted to the Kittitas Valley Hospital in Ellensburg, while a 13-year-old boy and a 6-year-old boy were airlifted to the Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital in Yakima. All were were critical condition.
 
An 8-year-old girl was the only passenger not injured in the incident. Troopers say the driver and the 15-year-old boy were the only two wearing seat belts at the time of the collision. It was not immediately established how the occupants of the motorhome were related but the crash report states they all had the same last name.
 
The roadway was mostly blocked Monday evening during the investigation and all lanes reopened around at 8:30 PM. No additional information has been released to the public at this time.
