Boy Killed in Car Accident in San Jacinto

 
SAN JACINTO, CA (February 11, 2019) – On Monday afternoon, a juvenile was killed in a pedestrian accident on 3rd Street in San Jacinto. The identity of the victim has not yet been released to the public.
 
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred around 3:45 PM near Jordan Avenue.
 
As per reports, an adult male was backing his vehicle from a residential driveway and collided with the victim, who had been on the ground near the rear of the car.
 
First responder arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital. The boy suffered major injuries and was pronounced deceased some time later that day.
 
Officers stated that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. It is unknown if alcohol and drugs were considered to be contributing factors.
 
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time for cleanup and preliminary investigation, but has since reopened. There has been no further information released regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident at this time, as the investigation continues.
