Motorized Bike Driver Killed in Ming Avenue Hit-And-Run Crash
Bakersfield, CA (December 17, 2020) – Wednesday evening, a juvenile riding a motorized bike died in a hit-and-run crash on Ming Avenue.
The Bakersfield fatal crash happened at around 5:18 p.m. on December 16.
Investigators said the rider of the motorized bike was traveling westbound on Ming Avenue when he was struck by a driver making a left turn. However, the driver left the scene.
Then a second driver ran over the rider of the bike who was already on the road, pinning him underneath the vehicle.
The victim died later at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the second vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Drugs or alcohol is not a factor for the incident.
At this time, Police are looking for a black or silver 2003 – 2007 model Honda Accord seen leaving the area following the first collision.
The rider wore dark clothing and was described only as a juvenile. The motorized bike did not have a license plate and was not a street-legal vehicle.
