Young Pedestrian Killed in Accident on Highway 96 at Mill Road
HOOPA, CA (September 7, 2019) – A young pedestrian died in an accident on Highway 96 at Mill Road, early Saturday morning. Authorities withheld the identity of the pedestrian, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 12:27 AM. The pedestrian was walking in the roadway at Mill Road when a vehicle struck the juvenile.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 28-year-old Vanessa Graeber, immediately called law enforcement. Emergency responders rendered aid to the pedestrian and attempted life-saving efforts. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to their injuries and died at the scene.
