1 Injured and 1 Detained in Toppenish Accident on 82 Freeway
TOPPENISH, WA (July 15, 2020) – On Thursday night, a 15-year-old sustained injuries and Salvador Munozgonzalez fled after a crash on 82 Freeway.
According to reports, on July 9th, 19-year-old Manuel Delgadillomonreal and his 15-year-old passenger headed west on 82 Freeway in a Hyundai Sonata. Their vehicle was located two miles west of Grandview when a Chevy Tahoe hit them from behind.
Subsequently, the 42-year-old Chevy Tahoe driver, Salvador Munozgonzalez, exited his SUV and escaped on foot. The authorities managed to detain him, and he will soon be charged with criminal hit-and-run.
Responders transported the juvenile passenger to Astria Sunnyside Hospital for treatment of his injuries. However, the authorities haven’t disclosed his condition at this time.
Meanwhile, Manuel Delgadillomonreal received a citation for following too closely.
