Juvenile Detained after Police Chase Crash on FM 1472 and Loop 20 [Laredo, TX]

Injuries Reported in Laredo Auto Accident on FM 1472 and Loop 20

LAREDO, TX (September 12, 2024) – Wednesday afternoon, a juvenile was detained in a police chase crash on FM 1472 and Loop 20.

The authorities received a report at about 2:40 p.m. of three undocumented individuals inside a gray Honda Accord in the Rancho Viejo area.

A DPS trooper attempted to pull over a vehicle after spotting it, but the driver refused to stop. The pursuit continued until the vehicle collided with a pickup truck, a Chevrolet Sonic, and a Chevy Silverado at the intersection of FM 1472 and Loop 20.

Three migrants were transported to the hospital, while the driver of the Honda Accord, a 16-year-old boy, was uninjured and taken into custody. The driver of the Chevrolet Sonic also required medical attention and was hospitalized. Motorists are advised to drive carefully and consider alternate routes in the area.
