Juvelyn Arroyo and 2 Others Killed in S Vermont Avenue Collision [Westmont, CA]

Westmont, CA (August 27, 2023) – On Saturday morning, 23-year-old Juvelyn Arroyo, 23-year-old Veronica Amezola, and 27-year-old Kimberly Izquierdo, were killed in a S Vermont Avenue collision.

The fatal collision took place at about 5:25 a.m. in the area of West Century Boulevard, several blocks west of the 110 Freeway.

According to the authorities, a white Mercedes Benz was northbound on Vermont Avenue when it crashed into a black Honda driven westbound on Century Boulevard. 

“We do believe the white Mercedes ran the red light, hit the Honda on the driver’s side, spun the car out, and knocked the rest against the west curb on Vermont,” said LAPD Sgt. Clarence Perkins. 

Juvelyn Arroyo, Veronica Amezola, and Kimberly Izquierdo were killed at the scene while the Uber driver that was behind the wheel of the Honda with her male passenger and a person from the Mercedes-Benz, were taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance in critical condition. 

Officers are still investigating this fatal collision.
