29-Year-Old Woman Arrested in Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Crash on East Valley Mall Boulevard
Union Gap, WA (September 13, 2023) On Monday evening, 55-year-old Justin Weeks was hurt and hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash on East Valley Mall Boulevard.
According to the Union Gap Police Department, the pedestrian crash happened at about 7:45 p.m. on the 10 Block of East Valley Mall Blvd.
Reports say that a female driver on a white Subaru struck Weeks, as the pedestrian was trying to cross the street.
Officials say that the woman fled the scene after the crash, however, a witness was able to follow her and called 911 to provide information on her whereabouts.
Union Gap Police arrested the 29-year-old woman, who was booked into the Yakima County Jail on felony charges of hit-and-run injury and No Valid Operator’s License without identification.
Meanwhile, Justin Weeks was transported to Multi-care Yakima Memorial Hospital and later taken to Harborview in Seattle due to the extent of his injuries.
Police are investigating the pedestrian hit-and-run crash.
