Driver Junior Melendez Chamorro Arrested in Fatal Accident on Beverly Park Road [Lynnwood, WA]

Child Fatally Struck in Lynnwood

Lynnwood, WA (June 2, 2024) – Junior Chamorro, 45, was arrested following a fatal accident on Beverly Park Road Thursday night.

It was about 7 p.m. when a 2023 Infiniti QX56 driven by Chamorro struck a 1-year-old child outside a home in the 13900 block area.

The authorities immediately responded to the accident scene and found the unresponsive boy lying in the driveway.

Paramedics provided first aid but found no pulse on the victim.

A resident reported to the authorities that his roommate, Junior Melendez Chamorro, ran over the child.

Deputies told the resident to call Chamorro.

Troopers later arrested him for investigation of vehicular homicide while under the influence. 

After a drug recognition expert examined him, the officer determined Chamorro was under the influence of “a Depressant and Cannabis” when the accident happened.

The authorities booked Chamorro into the Snohomish County Jail with a bail of $500,000.

Meanwhile, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the child’s identity, as well as the official cause and manner of death.
