Injuries Reported in Susanville Auto Accident on Gold Run Road and Gunderson Road
SUSANVILLE, CA (October 31, 2023) – Sunday morning, June Reyo suffered injuries in an alarming DUI crash on Gold Run Road.
The incident happened at around 7:37 a.m. on Gold Run Road and Gunderson Road.
According to reports, 19-year-old Peyton Nasser of Janesville drove a 2008 Suzuki Vitara east on Gold Run Road. However, due to the driver’s level of intoxication, he failed to safely navigate a left-hand turn which caused Suzuki to veer off the road.
Then, the Suzuki went along the downhill embankment until it crashed into a large boulder and came to rest.
As a result, the passenger in the front seat, 19-year-old Reyo of Susanville, California, sustained major injuries in the crash and was taken to Banner Lassen Medical Center.
Meanwhile, officers took Nasser into custody for driving under the influence and causing injury to another.
Officers confirmed that Nasser was first transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries before being booked into the Lassen County Jail.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
