Julio Ramirez Vasquez Dies in Head-On Crash on Highway 129 [Aromas, CA]

Watsonville, CA (October 05, 2021) – On October 1, a 44-year-old box truck driver, Julio Ramirez Vasquez, died and a 30-year-old SUV driver suffered injuries in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 129.

The semi-truck fatal accident took place at about 4:30 p.m. 

Investigators said that a 2021 Freightliner/ big rig rear-ended an SUV on the highway when its driver slowed for traffic. 

Then, the SUV hit a cement barrier injuring the driver.

Afterwards, the big rig was pushed into on-coming traffic where it crashed head-on with a box truck. 

Unfortunately, the 44-year-old box truck driver of Prunedale succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital.

Meanwhile, officers said alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the deadly Watsonville;uxxuuululxxxxxxxxxxx collision.
