One Killed, One Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 54 in Callaway County
Callaway County, MO (November 1, 2024) On Wednesday evening, 49-year-old Juli Harris of Holts Summit was killed in a frightening crash on Highway 54.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the fatal collision happened at about 9:42 p.m. along the westbound lanes of Highway 54 near New Bloomfield.
Reports say that the two-vehicle crash left one person dead and another injured.
Authorities say that the incident involved a2014 Mazda CX-5, which had been involved in an earlier incident, was stationary on the highway when a westbound 2017 Chevrolet Malibu struck it.
The Mazda’s driver, identified as Juli A. Harris, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Boone County Medical Examiner at 9:58 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Malibu’s driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to Capital Regional Hospital by Callaway EMS.
Officials confirmed that both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
