2 Co-Workers Killed and 1 Woman Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash near West Nielsen Avenue
KERMAN, CA (June 8, 2018) – Two men were killed Friday afternoon and a woman was left seriously injured, following a collision between two vehicles in the area of North Lassen Avenue and West Nielsen Avenue. 34-year-old Juan Rivera of San Joaquin and 34-year-old Jose Garcia of Firebaugh were identified as the casualties in the incident.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at about 3:30 PM. A vehicle, occupied by Rivera and Garcia, was heading east on Lassen Avenue when it pulled into the path of a second vehicle for unknown reasons.
The collision between the two vehicles caused Rivera and Garcia’s vehicle to roll over several times. They sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to the Community Regional Medical Center for the treatment of moderate injuries she sustained.
Rivera and Garcia were reportedly driving home from work when the incident happened. It was also noted that the woman appeared to have had right of way as the two men were on a road that came to a stop at Lassen Avenue. The incident remains under investigation and no other information is available at this time.
Our thoughts are with the bereaved loved ones of Juan Rivera and Jose Garcia. We wish them strength and comfort during this difficult time. May they rest in peace.
