Juan Flores Jr Dies in Tragic 3-Vehicle Crash on I-40 [Amarillo, TX]

Amarillo, TX (December 8, 2023) On Wednesday evening, 21-year-old Juan Flores Jr died in a tragic collision on I-40 and Lakeside Drive.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, the fatal traffic collision happened at about 10:41 p.m. on Interstate 40.

Reports say that the collision involved a a black Ford Mustang and a green Chevy Camaro driving side-by-side at a high rate of speed.

Meanwhile, a big rig exiting a parking lot onto Lakeside, when the 2 speeding vehicles collided with the trailer attached to the semi and became wedged under the trailer.

Officials say that the driver of the Mustang, identified as Juan Jose Flores Jr was pronounced dead at the scene, while the Camaro driver sustained minor injuries.

The Amarillo Police Department Traffic Investigation Squad is investigating the crash.
