17-Year-Old Juan Diaz Dies in 61st Avenue Auto-Pedestrian Crash in Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ (April 15, 2022) – Thursday night, 17-year-old Juan Diaz died in a crash with a pickup truck near 61st Avenue and McDowell.

The fatal crash in Phoenix happened at around 9:30 p.m. on April 14.

Phoenix Police said Diaz was standing in the street when a pickup truck heading east on McDowell hit him.

Diaz died from his injuries. The driver remained at the crash scene.

Police said impairment is considered a factor in the crash.

No other information is immediately available.
