SAN JACINTO, CA (May 4, 2023) – Early Monday morning, authorities arrested Juan Carlos Rodriguez-Salgado after a tragic hit-and-run crash on San Jacinto Avenue near 7th Street.

The incident happened at around 4:00 a.m. near 7th Street.

According to reports, a male pedestrian crossed San Jacinto Avenue in the middle of the block near 7th Street. However, a car struck him and killed him at the scene, said Sgt. Deirdre Vickers, a Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman.

At first, the deputies couldn’t find the car. However, they located the car and its driver several blocks away. Vickers added, “Damage on the vehicle was consistent with a pedestrian impact.”

Authorities booked Rodriguez-Salgado into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning, with bail set at $75,000.

Moreover, the Sheriff’s Department urged anyone with information on the collision to call deputies at 951-766-2364.
