Traffic Delayed in Barstow Two-Vehicle Accident on 15 Freeway near L Street

BARSTOW, CA (September 7, 2023) – Thursday night, Joyce Lynn McShan died in a horrific wrong-way crash on 15 Freeway near L Street.

The incident happened at around 6:00 p.m. on the southbound 15 Freeway near L Street.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a northbound dark Mazda CX5 traveling in the southbound lanes for still unknown reasons.

Then, a semi-truck swerved to avoid collision with the wrong-way vehicle and struck the guardrail. Also, the cab of the semi erupted into flames after the crash.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that the driver of the Mazda, Joyce Lynn McShan, and her passenger, died in the crash. Also, officers said that the driver and a passenger of the semi were not hurt in the incident.

Furthermore, the crash closed the No. 1 and 2 lanes of the 15 Freeway, just north of L Street. All lanes have long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
